Usually holes of this size are made with chainsaw and chain is lubricated with a very small amount of oil. It of course shows on the water, but not dangerous by any means, there’s so little of it. Many also use pinetree oil for this purpose, so it’s biodegrable.

Actually, the whole thing has been photoshopped (or is that “photoshopt”?).

The shadow of the guy on the left has a huge bump along the lower edge but there is nothing corresponding to create that bump. No the cute skirt cannot account for the bump, cuz the bump is much darker than the rest of the shadow.

It’s a concrete sidewalk with water running over it. Some ice build-up on the side. They are at a park. It probably has an ice melt system built into the sidewalk. There ya go…
