Apostrophes are indeed used for typical possessive nouns, but “it” is irregular. “It’s” is a contraction of “it is”, “its” is the possessive form like “his”, and “they” is the plural form.

So you’re wrong and Scarlett is right. No apostrophe. No hard feelings.
