That’s absolute normal behavior on any ship, I think. Somehow the boat has to be driven, so why not by cat’n'horse-engine?
But the cat is photoshoped. Why would there be a cat on a boat?
To eat the mice and rats, of course, cats on ships and boats have a very long history.

That’s by Corey Arnold as was already stated. He’s a fantastic photographer and the cat is real. That’s kitty. She was on board the Rollo. You can see Youtube vids relating to her “kitty maintenance on the Bering Sea” I believe. It’s not photoshopped at all. Also, for the record, Corey is brilliant.

I disagree, its a real horse…with hands…but the ship is a fake and the ocean is definately photoshopped(look at the shadows-proves its fake)

Horse masks always frighten me for some reason, along with milkmen and Elvis impersonators.
Apparently, Kelpies (water horses) have adapted to modern times.
Its a Sea-Horse(they always have hands) with a Catfish of course. The horse looks so surprised ‘cos he was after Dogfish.
The boat is all rusty because (assuming it’s a crab fishing boat up in Alaska…where the picture would get the name) metal and water don’t mix. Now when the water is SALTY it mixes even worse. Thusly it ends up rusting in a rather quick time period…
Why do so many WTF pictures involve cats? Seriously, there have to be three times as many pictures containing cats on this website than any other animal. Is there just something very WTFable about them?

What self respecting horse would be seen in that awful rubber orange rain suit with of all things blue gloves that clash with the belt and the cat.
Plus every horse I know will only travel on posh yatchs with a full wet bar and all you can eat sushi.
I think the cat photo shopped this to make himself look good for some hot little persian he has been chasing.

One of Cyanide and happiness creators use cut of this photo as avatar, I always wondered what the hell it was. And to all people here arguing about photoshop and even real horses (wtf?!): are you crazy? Its just mask. They all appeared on the same intertubes site for cats called “www.failhoomin.cat”, where felines can upload,lol and comment on how bloody stupid there owners are. The only condition is that ‘Tiddles’ or ‘Mr. Fluffy-feet’ has to appear in the picture. Voting occurs on a monthly basis with the winner recieveing either a “Hail-ball Maker” or a 6 week supply of cat-nip.

This photo was taken on the crab fishing boat, The Rollo. The orange jumpsuit is what they always wear. The cat whose name is ‘Kitty’ lives on the boat. When it’s rough waters, then she goes inside, but as you can see, it is a calm see so they guys are just joking around and so they have her out on deck. They have a horse mask because when you’re out on the bering sea, you have to entertain yourself. The fishermen bring costumes and masks and all sorts of crap to entertain each other. The ‘WTF’ moment is because one of the fishermen, Corey Arnold, is a photographer and so he takes cool pictures. This is a cool picture. There. Done. Everyone get over it.
This was on the cover of “the stranger” in seattle back in November of 2007, so you are all late to the party.

My first thought was that it was ‘shopped. But On closer inspection of the original on the Corey Arnold site, I don’t think it is. I work with PS a lot, so I have a pretty good idea of what to look for.
The cat is real and the person is really holding it. The horse head is obviously fake, but I think it’s some sort of mask.
None of his other images are composites, so I doubt this one is either.
Is this what happens after planet-of-the-apes?
