Who else but maybe an English teacher would reference the straw-man argument— or wait are you an atheist? oh, hellbound, that explains it. In that case you will burn in hell- Y? – because, this old fairy tale book I found in the hotel nightstand told me so; And I am told to believe everything in that book is the truth and those scientists are just part of a complex conspiracy to help the devil get more souls. As for me this is a parade of Chochol-imitations:)
In Poland, exactly in the village culture, Chochol (spelled: hohol, reading each letter fully)is a straw-made magically animated creature which appeared in beliefs of village and country unhabitants. It is known to broader audience as one of featuring characters in Stanislaw Wyspianski’s drama “Wedding” (polish “Wesele”) and is summoned by Poeth and Rachel as the only missing person on this wedding. He then came and started to play violin which has hypnotized everyone in final scene, where everybody danced.
Reasons for WTF in case of this pic:
1) Where did they find straw in winter?!
2) What are those Chochols doing in Asia?! (or wherever else)
3) Didn;t they feel cold with no jackets and even sleeves?

@MEL – Your almost right. This is actually the mating ritual of the bagworm. Once they get large enough, they fall off the tree and squirm around on the ground until they finally poke their limbs out (they are actually giant moths at this point). Then go and pull down their fellow bagworms. From there its a typical worm/moth ritual.

I think this may be Japan – not 100%, but still. And it would make sense if it were, since there’s a long history of rice straw being made into raincoats in Japan, so it wouldn’t surprise me if some enterprising individual decided to make winter protection out of them.
