I concur. Either they sat there and let the road or bridge wash out from below them..Unlikely or the driver tried to jump the chasm. But still, what a dweeb. He should have checked to see if that bus was made by Ferrari first.

Looks like they got caught in a flash flood. The low/weak points in the road become rivers very very quickly. The bus was just lucky that time.
That bus must have been moving pretty fast to at least make it half way across that washout.
