There’s a 60 year old man back in that park, swinging on a swing, still refusing to come home for dinner after 50 years. That’s gonna be a damn cold plate of broccoli moms is gonna make you eat!

Before ghost rider got his motorcycle, he had to ride this bike.

  7. Rickie says:

We used to have such bugs where I grew up. Quite a nasty sight, but I thought they made their webbing on trees only. I feel sorry for the bike though. I’d burn it and let it rest in peace.

    • kc says:

What are they? Are the spiders? We (New York) have little mothy things that make similar webs, though not all over the place like that. What ARE those things?

  8. Deilax says:

These are from a kind of silk worm. I saw the pictures to of the College Campus that these little guys attacked. It was quite astonishing. I’ve also seen them in the wild while visiting my grandmother on her Idaho property when I was younger. They cover EVERYTHING with there silk.

Its not the Silk clothing Silk worms to.

I know that stuff is creepy, but I think this photo is beautiful in a wtf sorta way.

  11. Sari Everna says:

Because the bugs have made their gunk on the tree, too, it looks like the bike is encased in the tree’s bark. I like!

  12. bob jones says:

    tent caterpillars?

    • the dark ferret says:

Gypsy moths. We had an infestation when I was a kid. They cut down trees all over the place. The only solution is to burn the nests. It’s a major problem in the forests of northeastern America.

    • James D. says:

If it’s the Pacific Northwest (Oregon esp.) then likely it’s Tent Caterpillars. Huge problem there, you find those orange suckers all over your trees and on the sides of your house.

  15. Bucky says:

Folks used to tell stories of the phantom bicycle that would show up around 3:30 every Wednesday afternoon looking for its rider. You could hear the faint sad sound of “brring! brring!” before the manifestation …

  22. Tess says:

The bike could be new… if the cocoon could be enhancing the glaze on the bike. If it’s not cocoon, it could be party foam sprayed on the bike’s entire body to make it look like something of an insect’s weaving. This is all sounds crazy.

  27. AmericanDutchess says:

It is disgusting. You wouldn’t want to touch the bike. This was caused by fuzzy caterpillars (very common in Holland, bike also looks Dutch). I know the dutch word (eikenprocessierups). The fuzz on the caterpillars will cause break outs if you touch them, and you do not want any of the fuzzy stuff to get in your eyes. These lil guys hang out on trees in big groups.
