they dont wear that many, your thikning of the heian time noble women.

geisha wear the inner most (rarely shown) a juban, a middle layer and then this outermost kimono. just 3. and the middle 2 can be very thin, its the outone thats the most heaviest.

no one really wears 9 layers of anything anymore. (princess does when she’s married into the family, and only on her wedding day)

Im pretty sure ive seen this before in a documentry, its a game where you have to roll onto your front without smackin your xhin on the floor, they play all sorts of games, another one where you have to push the other geisha over with your bum….. good times x

Actually, the fact that they’re doing this at all marks them as dancers. If you’ve ever seen traditional Japanese dance, or tried it yourself, you’d know what a workout it is.
