sooo…nobody seems to notice that the barrel doesn’t connect to the giant chamber and that’s it’s just pointed at the hole? As mentioned at the top of the comments, it’s a ballistics test chamber. A silencer would be pointless and absurd to use in the field. The point of artillery is not to be stealthy and there is no tactical advantage to being quiet when you’re 20 miles or more away from the target. Jesus just look at the picture before going on and on about it being a silencer. And EVERYTHING in the military (any country) is painted some sort of camo. It’s the military after all.

There are no civilians living close to an artilary training exercise fireing area. It would be dangerous. These ranges are miles and miles from anywhere important. That is why Fort Hood and Fort Sill are 2 of the largest military posts in the world. Its not because of the inhabited areas of the post, its because of the range areas. They are HUGE!!!!! lol.

In the military we dont care about bothering the civilians that live around post. (not with training excercises anyway) If they dont want to hear the tank fire they can move the hell away from the base.
