It’s either art or a really really big pair of edible undies.

  2. Benz says:

    zomg this is soo shopped

    • yeah, because photoshopers are *that* good at drawing shadows.

      *sarcasm

      • Nostawyn says:

Actually the shadows are the only thing keeping me from thinking this is shopped, because it sure as hell does not look like the gum is attached to the building on camera left (to me at least). Is it meant to be free-standing?

        • Muninn says:

I think so, it seems to be stuck to/around a pole.

          • Nostawyn says:

Okay, yeah, I can see that. It doesn’t make it any less weird, but it makes sense.

            • Alias says:

Yes, because a giant wad of bubblegum stretched across an alleyway is so probable that it cannot be even CONSIDERED to be photoshopped!

I suggest you study yourselves in the way of Occam’s razor:
“When you have two competing theories that make exactly the same predictions, the simpler one is the better.”

      • Benz says:

I don’t know Photoshop, but i don’t think it’s impossible to draw shadows. Or maybe something is standing there “behind” the bubblegum that throws the shadow. But why do i give a damn…

    • St. Michael says:

Looks more like forced perspective than photoshop to me.

  3. no-one says:

My mind keeps fluttering between a giant piece of used chewing gum or some wierd modern installation art of abstracted vag parts……well, I guess it COULD be the same thing, right?

  27. Jarastu says:

my gess: gum stuck to the lens ->forced perspective
i once knew a artist who did things like this. real life optical illusions in photos. forgot were, does anyone know?

    • Elki says:

It’s Simone Decker, as r721 pointed out. I think it is forced perspective, although I’m not sure how. She’s done similar stuff with aquariums and cellophane too.

  28. ben fry says:

clearly cant you guys see its a mini town like a stage one and they put just a normal piece on gum on both side of the model and. they tilted the camera angle up to make it seem like the buildings are bigger than they really are.

  29. boingo says:

ya its the suport power demonstration of poor photoshop skills. its obvious by looking where the gum meets the building.

  30. Anon says:

    I though it was obvious.

Well yes, the gum thing looks legit, but it clearly is shopped into that alley.
Either you’re not even taking half a second to look at and judge a picture, or you burned your eyes/brain with your internet habits.

  34. MidnightDStroyer says:
