In Soviet Russia, Winter Wonderland walks on you!
wow look at the soft blur around the edges…so romantic in a creepy ‘I killed these horses’ kind of way
Making Trouble for Moose and Squirrel just got to be so pedestrian after a while.
Yes!! -and it looks like they finally decided to go gangsta on Bullwinkle’s family.
What is Bill O’Reilly doing behind that lady?
It’s Guy Maddin’s ‘My Winnipeg’:
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1676777216/tt1093842
One of my favorite films and definitely one of my favorite film directors.
This is a screengrab from the movie My Winnipeg.
I’ve seen scenes like this before, they’re called nightmares.
this is from a Guy Maddin movie called “My Winnipeg”…Epic movie!
That’s a screen shot from a movie called “My Winnipeg”
lol dude they tottaly got the winnipeg part right XD with all the snow and what not.
After seeing a few clips of that movie, the picture is no where near WTF as when you put the audio back with it. Then it makes even less sense.
Well, duh! If you don’t store your dismembered horse heads on ice you won’t have any to get you thru spring!
I see I got here too late for the obligatory “In Russia” joke. So I shall just that that is a wonderfully creepy image and I will now have to rent My Winnipeg.
A screenshot from “my winnipeg” eh , well it certainly reminds me of my time in winterpeg – in fact if it had buried hoss heads it would have probably been a better year!
Good weed tho , what can i say all things have an upside.
wtf? he’s got no eyes!
Your Tauntaun’ll freeze before you reach the first marker!
Than I’ll see you in Hell!
Dr. Zivago + The Godfather + Equus = something the CBC would broadcast. I’ll have to rent it now to see if it’s any good.
And how appropo considering we Canadians are still slaughtering horses for meat.
Well, we might as well eat them after they’ve lived a nice long life and served their purpose(I lost a horse last year who was 31 years old, but no, we didn’t eat her). And of course, we have to use their hooves for glue. “You won’t eat our meat, but you glue with our feet”.
Most of them haven’t lived nice long lives. Most go to slaughter abused, starved and abandoned. Google it.
Ah yes. This is a reenactment of the time the old horse barns here in Winnipeg burned down, driving their occupants into the nearby Red River. That cold night, the river froze, and the horses were trapped and frozen. The heads became an attraction for tourists and young lovers out for moonlit river walks.
True story. Seriously.
I wish I could travel by Frozen Horse.
As people said before me, this is a still from Guy Maddin’s My Winnipeg. If you haven’t seen it, i urge you to check it out, because it’s quite extraordinary, quite WTF and actually quite a masterpiece. If you like it, also check out other works of Guy Maddin, a fabulous director who’s works could fill Picture is Unrelated for quite some time.
the horse of judgement will not be happy
I think I need to rent that movie now, too.
Moose Harvest is early this year….
In Russia, the Godfather doesn’t just put a horse head in you bed.
They do it bigger…
Another suggested caption: “Shoulda let Johnny Fratto drive the sleigh…”
Welcome to the Russian Easter Island!
gonna be a great harvest in spring!
Only in Russia…
darling i think the horse seeds are spourting.
Her face seems to say ” Why do you question my harvest of winter horse heads?”, while the frozen horse heads seem to suggest she’s totally F’ed in the F’in A.
Boris: We finally kill moose!
Natasha: This not moose, and where squirrel?
You’ve all heard of lop-eared rabbits: These are lop-headed horses.
Used frozen horses for sale or the new Ice Age you decide.
