Klaus Schulze for sure. He’s the only person from the 70s with a million dollars of equipment who sat cross-legged in a cube. He is sitting the same way in some of his liner notes, sans mask.
Tron was by Wendy Carlos, who always used a chair!
What the heck is people’s fascination with Daft Punk on this website? Groovy litte group, but pioneering? People need to quit wasting their time in dance clubs and read up on some electronic music history….
Daft Punk, the early years.
I came here to say exactly that
So did everyone else, apparently…
Daft Punk prototype stage?
Any idea of who he could be ?
My guest is Klaus Schulze, or another synth pioneer of the 70′s german “cosmic” movement aka Krautrock.
Jep, that’s Schulze.
Hey thank you.
Damn I realise now I typed guest instead of guess XD
Daft Punk – the early days?
Daft Punk: The early years.
Daft Punk – the early years.
Close!
That’s Klause Shulze, and while he didn’t work on the Tron soundtrack, he did do a Pr0n soundtrack
holy hell!
Daft Punk, the ea…
Holy crap, we all think alike!
Holy crap, I was thinking the same as everyone else until I scrolled down.
actually the original Tron soundtrack was by Wendy Carlos (not sure if she was still Walter back then)
She became female in 1972, and Tron is from 1982
Kanye West, before he realized how much he liked Fish Sticks.
And, unfortunately, still hasn’t realised he has no talent.
And even more unfortunately, his fans have not yet had this realization either.
Daft Punk were never anywhere near that close to pioneering. Lots of recycling, but not a lot of boundary pushing.
If this is where they end up, I’m no longer going to be an organ donor.
“Jean-Michel Jarre
is a pretentious bore….”

If it wasn’t for that hulking great Moog Modular V, could have sworn it was Rick Wakeman. Severe case of Equipment Envy in 3…2…1…
Jean Michel Jarre..?

I can see a Moog Modular, 2 Minimoogs underneath it, and a Yamaha CS-80, and maybe a Korg MS-10.
Arp 2600 on the right, the little EMS synthiA (or maybe VCS3)
I’ve got a machine that goes FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Composing a welding march.
