No, the cheezburger is on the other side. So he has to leave the goose but return with the cat, get the wolf and leave the cat, then get the… oh f###! That’s not going to work. Well, what if he leaves the goose and the cat but returns with the cheezburger, leaves the cheezburger and returns wi— d@mn! That won’t work either!
What if he eats the cheezburger? That would break the stalemate.
Besides it was probably what he intended in the first place.

The entire trick is NOT to put the cheezburger first. If I’m looking at your plan correctly… Wolf eats goose, but is stopped by cat. Cat eats cheezburger, but is stopped by the goose… Nevertheless, this is flawed. Four just doesn’t work. The wolf has no role, and is only burden. By following your tactic, once you get the goose and cat to the other side, you can relax, and send the wolf and cheezburger over with no problem.

I don’t know whether he was delirious, but you’re right about the love. This fellow was dealing with a flood in northern Malaysia on 20 Dec 2005, and saving two creatures whom he regarded as family.

I remember seeing this photo in the news – has it been 4 years ago????!!!! – and I really hope that this man and those he loves (human and non-human) made it through the floods okay and are doing well. I admire and respect him so much for trying to save the cat and keep the goose with him.
