You guys do know the term “robot” was originally coined by someone from Soviet Russia? Umm, don’t you? Karel Čapek, a Chech, invented the word.

Yup, I know it, but Czechia has never been a part of USSR
Yea I realized that about 1/2 second after I clicked the “Add Comment” key.
Only Ruthenia was annexed by the USSR, just a small part of the Czech republic. I was most likely confused because the country as whole was communist – though not a USSR state.

FWIW, I had an opportunity to visit Prague some years ago. Nice place, lots of history there, wish I’d been able to stay longer than I did.
