This is how Inuit hunters track game. They launch eachother up so they can see a greater distance from a higher vantage point, making it easier to see a herd on the horizon.

I’d never heard about that, but this also looks exactly like a Korean game traditionally played by girls, that started as a way to see over the walls surrounding their houses (apparently back in the day upper-class girls weren’t allowed outside of the house).
They get really -REALLY- bored up in the arctic…
