yeah.. this is not really a “wtf” image… it is a very old european tradition. but if I were an ignorant American, and would only know halloween, christmas and the 4th of July… then I would be as “WTF”-thinking as them. http://www.huskypower.at/foto%20page/Krampustag/Max%20und%20Krampus.JPG
I hardly think that’s fair. After all, many Europeans probably don’t know what Hangul Day is, but that doesn’t mean they’re totally ignorant people. After all, the only reason *I* knew anything about Krampus is because I’m Pennsylvanian, and people around here many years ago used to go Belsnickeling. Besides which, Krampus *is* part of the Christmas tradition, so it’s only local variations of customs that Americans would be ignorant of, not the holidays themselves.
Because the people of every other country in the world are 100% aware of each other’s traditions, down to the last obscure holiday, except for use ignorant Americans.
Oh Krampus, the reason I found out Santa wasn’t real when I was 5, found out about him and my mom had to convince me neither were real so I would sleep ever again XD
Damn – now I really really want to see David Lynch remake ‘Home Alone’. That would be soo good. Would Macaulay be replaced by a little person? Or would it be more along the lines of ‘Blue Velvet’ surburban paranoia??
In this less-known version of the Christmas classic, Kevin McCallister actually is killed by the burglars. Then they photographed themselves with the dead boy as a ‘trophy’.
These are actually pretty tame costumes for the Krampus. My relatives in the Odenwald prefer to prance about drunkenly in masks that look more like a costume from The Howling.
looks like Krampus or something http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krampus
What the heck is this… is it a death picture where they dress dead people to look like their still alive???
Krampus and friends?
Krampus FTW
Ooh – I guess that plump German boy was naughty. XD

Freud wants to know why you bothered to capitalize “American” and not “european”?
Because America is an actual country, while europe is a collection of countries?
You “passive-aggressive” issues are your own
Um… Europe is a continent and therefore is still capitalized, as is “European”.
As in South America or North America?
Or just the united states of it?

He’ll put you in a sack and then throw you in the river!

Hmm, looks like a quite normal christmas celebration to me.
(Or at least what it would have looked like about 100 years ago around here.)
“…help…please help…” o.o

Is it weird that I find the kid the creepiest part of this picture O.o
The guy on the left’s jacket is made of cat fur. Meow Cat, not Roar cat…..
