I don’t know; I think the giant puppet thing is kind of cool.
I’ve seen pictures of the “little” girl and the elephant ones, and it’s only just occurred to me that I should try to find video now that I’ve got a computer!
(Not a technology-phobe; just sorta behind the times)

Isn’t that in Berlin? Some strange doll parade last year in the central? And the Red Town Hall in the back? I guess I even witnessed this.
Its the giant little girl puppet which has done many shows in europe, I think the most recent one was in Berlin and they introduced her giant uncle who was even taller.
The giant puppet was part of a play by the French marionette theater group Royal de Luxe during the festivities for the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall in October 2009.
In the background of the picture is the Rotes Rathaus in Berlin where the Little Giantess just woke up to begin the search for her uncle, the Big Giant.
Both lived in Berlin, only to be separated by the Berlin Wall. After the reunification, the Big Giant they went on for search for each other. The Little Girl Giant searches him in various boroughs of Berlin while the Big Giant (a deep-sea diver) emerges from the river Spree to find his nice. They finally meet each other near the Brandenburg Gate, one of the most important symbols for the reunification of Berlin.

I went to see the elephant when it was in London a few years back – easily the most impressive thing I have ever seen in my life. The governments of the world should arrange for things like this to happen every day in all the cities just to get a bit of magic and wonder back into life.
I’d probably be impressed with the elephant too; but the giant girl and friends freak the hell out of me. The are way to deep into the uncanny valley.
