Now this is cool!
And FIRST!
Grandpapa wheelie!
Yes, definitely cool. I’d like to know more about how this works. Do all the wheels turn and act like gears, imparting greater speed to the lowest ones?… stuff like that.
And would aforementioned greater speed produce a resultant whiplash effect in the case of a broken link in that 12 foot chain, thereby imparting damage to the rider’s love-spuds?
The chain connects directly to the bottom one, but it looks like it does drive the higher ones so everything moves.
It also looks like something I would kill myself trying to ride.
Also, the wheels are stacked four-deep; so the wheels on the bottom rotate in the opposite direction to the ones on the top. To have the bike work by driving the top set of wheels would mean adding another layer.
Plus seriously powerful thigh muscles to impart enough torque to get anywhere.
The chain drives the bottom wheels. The others are just so that it’s harder to pedal.
And so that when you fall, the ground hurts you more.
It can’t work like gears. The front wheel at the bottom would go backwards but the back wheel would go forwards.
Actually the front wheel of the bike isn’t connected to the drive mechanism so it just turns whichever way the back wheels push it.
Thank you, more-observant-than-wozzle persons!
Anybody know who or where this is?
Yo dawg so I heard u like bikes…
it really gonna hurt if he falls off that bike…
Old pic is OOOOLD!
This was the pic for the “Sup daws, I herd yo liek bikes…” one. Which is at least 100 years old.
In that case, it must be a Wright brothers design.
Um… Are you all missing the brilliance of this?
Due to gyroscopic stabilization, once he’s in motion he barely would have to balance at all, and there would be practically no chance of the bike falling over.
With the wheels at multiple levels, he could probably do just about anything up there, and the bike wouldn’t fall.
Awesome but, how does he climb on, or get off this bike? Rolling start with a platform truck? Dropped from an airplane?
Or maybe he pole vaults up there.
But the wheels are all spinning in opposite directions, cancelling each other out. So wouldn’t he actually have less stability than he would if he only had two wheels?
how does he get on and off that thing??
Grandpa is really doing amazing but Watch out!
That wheelie looks like fun
Do a barrel roll!
am i the only one wondering how he got up there?
