  1. Jay says:

    Did they died?

  2. r3loaded says:

    Wire they so shocked?

  3. jebanu1 says:

    It’s from Ghost Ship.

    • Poohead says:

Really? I guess that’s why the video is titled “Ghost Ship opening scene”.

    • Humm. says:

No shit? I bet no one could’ve noticed that since the youtube video’s name is GHOST SHIP opening scene. *Note that I didn’t put Ghost Ship with all caps to emphasize the fact that it’s right there for everyone to see even without your comment, but because it’s in all caps in the video’s name.*

  4. jebanu1 says:

It’s from Ghost Ship. Nice scene, corny movie.

  5. Phooop says:

What the hell? What category does a fucking movie clip go into on this site? Get real. If you have nothing to post on a given day, just leave it empty.

  6. Ben says:

Mythbusters ruined such scenes for me; it’d hurt like hell, but you’re not getting chopped in half w/ a cable

    • Anna Rexia says:

That, and how totally illogical the entire scene is.

    • shin0bi272 says:

yeah but remember this is hollywood. where they MAKE myths. Like the good guy always wins, the psychotic killer never dies even if you shoot him in the face with a .45 cal pistol and bury him in concrete, and before or after anything dangerous happens the star always has a funny one like quip about it.

They cant be bothered to allow things like facts get in the way.

      • shin0bi272 says:

        one line quip*

        • shin0bi272 says:

what would happen is the people closest to the wire (depending on tension and available space) would be swooped up into the rest of the crowd and more than likely would cause every one to FALL OVER some with broken ribs and maybe a couple of broken backs and deaths from internal injuries.

    • Jasper says:

Killjoy. Let us horror fans have our fun. Besides, that ship had an agent of the devil on it. That makes anything possible. ((Nudgenudge))

    • MihailMachine says:

Hahaha, thanks for that comment, you save me the trouble to ask myself (if it is possible and if Myth Busters did something about it) and wait for an answer :P

      Lazy girl is lazy…

  7. ErisTHeFairest5 says:

So…that means they did died? And this was from what movie?

  8. EmperorZombie says:

    Dopiest death scene EVER

The real horror is that I spent money to see that at a theater.

  9. Draycos says:

Double kill! Triple kill! Overkill! Killtacular! Killtrocity! Killimanjaro! Killtastrophe! Killapocalypse! Killionaire!!!!

    • NV8R Zia says:

Ya, it’s funny what one taught wire can inadvertently do in a couple seconds what other Hollywood serial killers could accomplish in maybe a week. There is truly no end to human stupidity. And nobody saw that coming?

  10. dotkitty says:

If I were the girl, I wouldn’t just scream. I’d run away too.

  11. Batsumaru says:

Isn´t it Ghostship? The opening scene? ;)

Funny thing is, that exactly where the girl is standing, the wire ascends, so the guy she was hugging got beheaded, not cut in half like everybody else.

But, no shit, my co-worker told me that something like this actually did happen somewhere in Africa, while he was there on research in the 80s…

  12. Sumpm says:

Happened to me once. Don’t want to talk about it.

  13. Drdoods says:

Saw a weird copy of this scene were all the blood was green. Weird.

  14. InsertScaryName says:

Well I guess wireless technologies are not developed for cruise ships yet.

  15. blaster999 says:

Looks like the filament From Johny Mnemonic

  16. RainbowPoof says:

    Oh, I’ve seen this. We’ve got the DVD of Ghost Ship…. We’re still trying to *lend* it to someone and conveniently never get it back, but no one wants it. -_-;

  17. hubaobao says:

Oh hai, i’ve seen this too, it was a Monty Python sketch 20-30 years ago. HILARIOUS!

  18. polijuy says:

…and that’s why you don’t let Walter Dornez build your ship.

  19. imp says:

*shudder* wires are scary. this is illogical and near impossible, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t scare the crap outta me.

  20. whooda says:

    I don’t understand any of this fluba-jubba!

  21. ebondefender says:

And that’s why anciet naval wire seatbelts are not recommended for people over 4 ft. tall, as they may pose a health hazard! :P

  22. ebondefender says:

annnd I just spelled ancient wrong lol

  23. SilverSideOut says:

I wouldn’t say it’s impossible for one or even two people to get cut in half by a wire. A few dozen, yeah, I’d say it’s unlikely, but not 100% impossible.

I’ve seen a person get cut in half by a 3/16th in. thick wire snapping under tension, wasn’t pretty.

  24. Vojmor says:

    It is from Ghost Ship.
(just kidding, do not get mad or gravity cat will not be amused)
Awww, my favourite scene… but I think that hand on 1:20 is most unrealistic in it. How the **** it managed to stand like that? and on 1:38 you can hear Justin Bieber.
Pls no negative comments or I will tell Candlejack your na

    • Jimmylou says:

Yeah, unreaslitic as hell. They would may be cut in two halfes, but they wouldn’t keep standing for some minutes. The rope must be thinner than nylon to do such a clean cut off :S

  25. Fulano me tal says:

And then, Evoken’s “Where Ghosts Fall Silent” starts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AliDwNIvuVA
Scariest music most of you have (and probably will) ever listened to

  26. Bob says:

When this movie came out, there was a disgruntled projectionist at the local movie theater that swapped out the reel for a kids movie (Country Bears I believe) and replaced it with this. All the kids started crying and the manager ended up giving everyone free movie tickets.

  27. Sui says:

… Wow. I didn’t think this was from a horror movie at first, as it was so ridiculous. =/ I mean come on. The disembodied arm reaching out at the camera… How could anyone take that seriously? But at the end I noticed the video title. I was sad.

  28. WAT says:

what is this crap. People getting cut in half? Good grief…

  29. maico says:

I kept waiting for, “….for everything else, there’s Mastecard.”

  30. NV8R Zia says:

This must be one of the only perks to being short.

  31. Miss Cupcake says:

omg, i remember i saw this on tv. it made me sick to my stomach.

  32. Freaky says:

I saw this on TV when I was a kid, it traumatized me and now I found it again O_O

  33. Daniela says:

Lucky girl… The wire didn’t get her due to her height… Heh…

  34. Jen says:

Oh, darn you debunkers … hope lil screamin’ Mimi can swim …

  35. Mysteryman3k says:

Is it bad that I watched this a good couple dozen times just to figure out exactly how the wire was laid out for this scene to happen and am not bothered by the scene at all, regardless of realism?
