Okay, so you’re now Death Mickey and you’re Talullah Batgirl, and I saved a ton of money shopping in the odd lots bin.

Sheee-it. Compared to us, these kids were rich! We lived *under* the tracks and had to wear old newspapers the bums threw out and pretend they were costumes, and were given all the apples with razor blades in them.

(cheap rubber band on mask explodes) *whizzzzZAP!*
“Oh honey, don’t cry–now you can go as Scarface Mickey.”

Don’t know why it make me think about the fantastic Aphex Twin’s Come To Daddy music video clip

  3. PlutoniumBoss says:

    Is that a Bacardi bat?

  4. Gumby says:

At least those costumes are original

Holy crap, i think thats a Vampira costume the one in the back has on, oh man does that bring back some memories…

  8. That`s not costumes — these kids really look like that.

  9. Pugiron says:

I hope the photographer followed taking this picture by kicking the shit out of whatever the hell those are.

Man…I remember those costumes like that. They came in a box with the funny smelling plastic masks and the little “made in Japan” costumes.

The masks lasted about 5 houses before the staple holding the rubber band would give out, the you went home and dad tried to staple it back and the plastic would crack and he’d staple some more and mom would cuss at him and he’d grab a beer and some tape while cussing back…
    Ah, childhood memories…

This is a famous picture that I’ve seen in a lot of American photography “art” books. I think it’s NY circa 1963. Unfortunately, my googling skills weren’t up for the task of finding out who the photographer is:(
