She’s just scared because she’s not used to people whom dress like that. Same reaction you’d get from a kid seeing Santa for the first time.
At that age, it’s not unreasonable to be terrified by someone who looks so wholly different from what you’re used to. Just like when babies cry upon seeing a bald head for the first time. I doubt it’s got anything to do with what they’re wearing.

even though the kid is clearly freaked out, those two are really pretty. though since I don’t recognize that culture and It’s not good quality picture, I can’t really tell if they’re male or female. XD

Why are you assuming that the Gunny’s “stink so bad” comment is racist? From they way they’re dressed, it looks like they might belong to a primitive culture, and probably don’t have access to things like soap, deodorant and showers. So it wouldn’t be completely unreasonable for someone to make assumptions about body odor.
(But then again, they could just be dressed up like that for the tourists. Who knows where this photo was taken, or the circumstances surrounding it?)
The culture looks to be masai or something along those lines. They are male though. and for the record black people scare the hell out of the little kids of any other ethnicity.

Wow thats some impressive coloring. I once packed the groceries of an African woman with skin almost the identical darkness to theirs way way back during my first job. Its even more impressive in person… the light just dances around every curve of muscle…
As for the babies reaction its valid all kids that age hate to be removed from their parents.

Great example of culture shock going on here. Everyone is so used to seeing African babies adopted by white people, specifically Americans, now the role is reversed and it looks completely out of place. Very much a win, Picture Is Unrelated!
